On Monday, May 18 we are in for a real treat at our next SKAL event…networking “reception” at the Historic New Orleans Collection and move next door to the Rib Room for a delightful dinner.

We encourage members to arrive as early as 5 pm to experience the AMERICAN REVOLUTION – The Augmented Exhibition to immerse yourself in America’s fight for independence (designed and produced by French technology firm Histovery!

This amazing exhibit at the Historic New Orleans Collection is not to be missed!   Complimentary wine, beer and champagne will be served! At 6:15 pm, we will hear a few words from President/CEO Daniel Hammer about this incredible opportunity to have this exhibit in New Orleans as the country is celebrating our 250th birthday and will remain here through January, 2027!

At 6:25 we depart out the Royal St. door to walk a few steps away to dine at the Rib Room in the Royal Orleans Hotel.

]]> The 6th Annual SKAL New Orleans Holiday Auction/Fundraiser proved to be a tremendous success, bringing together 112 SKAL members and guests to our Christmas Party in the elegant setting of The Windsor Court.   Our spectacular dinner (including passed hors d’oeuvres and four amazing courses) were so delicious.  It was truly a very special occasion for everyone.   Photos can be seen here. 
 
For those members who were unable to attend, we not only pinned two new members – Abby Jones (DOSM at Legends Global) and Ralph Mahana (GM, The Windsor Court), we also made a very special surprise presentation to a special guest, Klara Cvitanovich with Drago’s Restaurant, which brought the crowd to their feet with cheers and applause!
 
We would like to thank Skalleague Stu Barash for taking on the enormous task of coordinating the entire Holiday Auction for the 6th year!  Countless hours go into this project over the last 3 months and Stu continues to do an absolutely astounding job!
 
Additional thanks to the following for making this happen:
  • Ralph Mahana, General Manager, Megan Uram Plauche, Director of Sales & Marketing and the entire staff at The Windsor Court
  • Valerie Landry with Element

GRAND TOTAL: $16,382. These funds will be divided equally between UNO/HRT and The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, helping to further their important missions.
 
This was the highest amount we raised in the 6 years of holding the auction/fundraiser.

2024 was $14,000
